We put this little site together to show how much we appreciate all of you! Feel the same way? Please write a review! It's quick and easy! On a separate note, we recently added the "ADD THIS" widget to each and every page of magiccitymusicsource.com. It's located down at the bottom of the page in the footer. This one little bar allows you to share your band's pages to over 200 different different social networking / bookmarking sites, with just a few clicks. Have a twitter, facebook, or myspace page? Click "ADD THIS" to share your band's songs, events, blogs and more! You'll automatically be tweeted, streamed, or newsfeed-ed-ed! |

We have some exciting news! Magic City Music Source is proud to announce that we have partnered with online ticket retailer Ticketmaster! This exciting new opportunity allows us to be able to add some very high profile acts to our calendar. Now, when your band adds events to the Alabama events calendar, you will be featured right along side acts, such as: > Sarah McLachlan > Jewel > Peter Frampton > Zac Brown Band Make sure you check out all of the new events that have already been added to the calendar, and return often to see what new events are headed this way! |

Hey all, When you have a few free moments, head on over to the MCMS store and check out some of the items our local musicians are selling. As for our musicians, selling your items on MCMS is very easy. Just create an artist account and add them to the store. Of course, you will need a paypal account in order to get paid. If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to give us a shout. Take Care, Jon

So here we are, entering into another wonderful year on Magic City Music Source.com. 2009 was full of learning experiences and opportunities at MCMS. The first year, it was all about building... building a site, building relationships, and building a reputation. It's been a learning process, to say the least. Let's face it, though, the music scene in Birmingham has seen it's better days. All of our artists are well aware. However, it is up to us to improve things. As long as we collectively believe that we are less than successful, that's what we will experience. That's why magiccitymusicsource.com was created, and why it still exists today. It's our way of supporting our local artists and bands in Alabama.

Welcome to the Magic Man Blog ... and better yet, welcome to magiccitymusicsource.com! I started this site in March 2009, after realizing just how difficult it was to get out and hear all of the awesome talent in and around Birmingham. Up until the site was launched, I was unable to find any one place on the internet, where I could check out local bands, hear a sample of their music, and find out where they would be playing next. I began by thinking it would be nice to INDEX or CATALOG bands, venues, events, etc. That, I think, was my initial purpose. However, somewhere along the way, I aborted the catalog concept and wandered down the Social Network path (thankfully) Now, after only being online for a short time, I realize fully that this direction is much more powerful than any catalog could have ever been. I have realized that the power of the community itself lies within its members and the passion that each one possesses for their art and each other. I am pleasantly surprised, on a daily basis, by the kindness of our community and each individual's willingness to build a better music community, not just on MCMS, but throughout our actual community. I am proud to be a part, to have the opportunity, no matter how small, to help bring everyone together in such a way.
