The Jackson Project is an Indie Southern Rock band consisting of Bryant “Jackson” Gilley II, Daniel Griffin and Jimmy Kincaid.  Blending a unique mixture of old school and southern rock with a softer, more folk sound The Jackson Project brings to life the feel of Led Zeppelin crashing violently and harmoniously into the eclectic styling of Tool. 

    Any music genre fan can find something to enjoy.  Classic rock lovers can feel as if they’re back in the ‘70s with tunes like “Dealer” and “Decider” while fans who prefer the feel of a local band playing the blues on the streets of New Orleans will find “Port City” more to their liking.  Fans have described them as “having their own sound” and “refreshingly impressive and innovative”.  The same can be said of their performances.  Playing mostly to small crowds in local bars has helped keep the boys familiar with their fans and loyal to their slogan “home grown” and while a more laid back crowd will find their small setting a relaxing environment the more lively listeners can appreciate the energy projected through the heavier tunes and, more specifically, Bryant’s powerhouse vocals.

    But the boys of TJP have another endearing on-stage quality that allows old and young fans alike to come together and enjoy their music: they play for their fans, not at them. This has sparked a flame and set a foundation for all TJP followers and gives us all a common thread to share. Their fans have formed a close-knit family that grows with every performance and openly welcomes any and all newcomers. The Jackson Project help their listeners forget their troubles and seek out new friendships which, as any concert enthusiast can tell you, can be almost as important as the band you are watching perform.
